Los Blancos are already considering ditching Zinedine Zidane in the summer and have been impressed by the Argentine, though don't fancy trying to nab him from Tottenham
Real Madrid have been put off making a move for Mauricio Pochettino because Florentino Perez has no desire to get into another set of negotiations with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, according to reports in Spain.
The Spurs honcho - an infamously tough negotiator - held out for a world-record fee for Gareth Bale back in 2013, with his tactics leaving a lasting impression on his Spanish counterpart.
While Madrid bosses have been impressed by Pochettino (though some board members fear he lacks star quality), El Pais report that Perez is unwilling to enter into negotiations with Levy after the bad experience he had during the Bale deal - so much for that special relationship!
Madrid are also considering trying to lure Germany’s World Cup-winning coach Joachim Low to the Santiago Bernabeu, with Perez keen to ensure that any new manager can get the best out of Bale.
