The Gunners made an initial approach for the Real Madrid midfielder during the January transfer window but the Frenchman did not believe he had time to secure a replacement
Zinedine Zidane blocked a potential Isco move to Arsenal in January because he did not think Real Madrid had enough time to secure a replacement, according to the Sun.
The Spanish midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester City due to a lack of playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu, where he has a host of stars for competition.
But Zidane was unwilling to see his squad weakened as the club did not have the time to bring in reinforcements, putting the brakes on a switch to the Emirates Stadium.
