Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone gave very emotional speeches as they led La La Land to a very impressive record-breaking showing at the Golden Globes.
The two stars each accepted the Best Performance by an Actor and Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy gongs as the musical as a whole took the Best Motion PictureMusical or Comedy award for a sweep of seven gongs at the event held at iconic The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
The impressive mark is also historic as it is now the most decorated film in the 74 year history of the event beating out a five-way tie of five with classics including: Doctor Zhivago (1965), Love Story (1970), The Godfather (1972), One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975), and A Star is Born (1976).

The flick centred around a Jazz Pianist falling for an aspiring actress in Los Angeles also earned wins in the Best Original Score Motion Picture and Best Original Song Motion Picture categories.
Damien Chazelle was also recognised for Best Screenplay Motion Picture and Best Director Motion Picture.
Ryan, 36, dedicated his win at at the gala award show to girlfriend Eva Mendes and her brother who recently passed away from cancer.
It may have been Ryan's first win at the award show but put the focus on some of his nearest and dearest at the gala.
The talented actor said: 'I would like to try to thank one person properly and say while I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I've ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer.
'If she hadn't have taken all that on so that I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today. So sweetheart, thank you.'
'To my daughters Amada and Esmeralda, I love you. And if I may, I would like to dedicate this to the memory of her brother, Juan Carlos Mendez. Thank you very much to the HFPA. Good night.'
Mendez passed away at the age of 53 in April 2016 after a long battle with cancer.
Later on in the night his 28-year-old co-star Emma also had quite the tearful speech as she talked about her mother.
Saving the best for last? Though La La Land may have had the highest quantity of wins it was Moonlight that was crowned in the signature end of the show spot as director and writer Barry Jenkins accepted the Best Motion PictureDrama prize
She said: 'Thank you, mom, for everything. I moved here 13 years ago this week and without my mom and my dad and my brother, who has put up with me his whole life. Thank you, Spence, you’re the best.'
Though La La Land may have had the highest quantity of wins it was Moonlight that was crowned in the signature end of the show spot.
The Barry Jenkins written and directed movie was given the coveted Best Motion PictureDrama prize.
One of the highlights of the night was Donald Glover bested the likes of Gael Garcia Bernal, Jeffrey Tambor, Nick Nolte and Anthony Anderson for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
In his touching speech the 33-year-old actor talked about how he grew up in a home where magic wasn't allowed but the performances in movies and television were supernatural to him.
He continued: 'My dad used to tell me every day, "You can do anything you want." And I remember thinking as a kid in first grade, "You're lying to me." But now I do stuff, and he's like,'"I didn't think that was possible."'
As if that was not touching enough, the new father added: 'I really want to say thank you to my son, and the mother of my son, for making me believe in people again and things being possible, so thank you.'
Earlier in the night the multi-talented star accepted another gong as the FX series Atlanta took home the win for Best Television SeriesMusical or Comedy.
Creator, writer and actor Donald proudly accepted the gong as he even thanked rapper Migos for track Bad And Boujee.
Tracee Eliss Ross took home the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy gong for her role in Black-ish.
The daughter of Diana Ross thanked women, women of colour and colourful people as she said winning the prize was: 'Nice for 44.'
After that Sarah Paulson triumphed once again as she won the Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.
It continued the winning trend for American Crime Story: The People V. OJ Simpson as the FX series was awarded the Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television gong shortly after.
The series The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story had led the way with five nominations.
The biggest winner in the television categories was The Night Manager as the series took home three gongs in the acting categories including wins for Olivia Colman and Hugh Laurie.
Leading man Tom Hiddleston won Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television as he used his speech to bring attention to the civil war in South Sudan.
The 35-year-old former boyfriend of Taylor Swift then dedicated the gong 'to those out there who are doing their best.'
Viola Davis also had a huge night as she was awarded the Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture gong for her role in Fences.
She later gave a passionate monologue as she introduced Meryl Streep for her awarding of the prestigious Cecil B. Demille Award.
'There was nothing good about it, but it did its job,' Streep said in the powerful speech that left many teary-eyed.
'It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I still can't get it out my head because it wasn't in a movie, it was in real life.'

Perhaps the most shocking upset of all was when Isabelle Huppert upset Natalie Portman, Amy Adams, Ruth Negga and Jessica Chastain for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama.
The 63-year-old actress was accepting the award for her role in Elle as she told director Paul Verhoeven in her speech: 'Thank you for letting me be what I am.'
