Police in Anambra have arrested two suspected armed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) at the Ekwueme Square in Anambra State, venue of the South East summit on restructuring.
Security had been watertight on the venue and across the state capital, following risk by the IPOB to disrupt the occasion.
A police helicopter was seen hovering over Awka, particularly the precinct of the Ekwueme Square as early as eight:00a.m.
As acknowledged by reviews, the Anambra state commissioner of police has been on floor with different sister safety companies together with the Nigeria Prisons Service to observe safety on the venue.
It was gathered that a particular group led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police was dispatched to Awka, the state capital, by Assistant Inspector General of Police accountable for Zone 9, Umuahia, Hosea Karma.
Daily Sun gathered that some youth leaders from Anambra state had labored carefully with the police, discreetly figuring out suspected Biafra activists.
