Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal.
Over 400 sacked aides of Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Soko State have thrown their weight behind the embattled governor following his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The former aides gave their support during a solidarity visit to Tambuwal at the State Government House in Sokoto.
Nasiru Shamaki, the Secretary of the former Special Assistants (SAs), debunked the purported resignation by those he referred to “as few SAs.”
The secretary disclosed that the governor had already dropped them before their decision to resign.
He said: “The decision was timely as it will allow the SAs to pursue their partisan political interests without hindrance or injury to the interest of the state government.
“Overwhelming majority of them are solidly behind the governor come rain, come shine and that they still maintained their loyalty to him having moved to the PDP on the same day he defected.”
Shamaki said the aides that allegedly resigned are disgruntled and rabble-rousers, who were bitter about the fact that they were sacked.
