The Arsenal youngster saw his loan spell with the Eredivisie giants cut short in January and now finds himself at Charlton... and Opta have revealed some eye-opening stats
Yaya Sanogo saw his loan spell with Ajax cut short on transfer deadline day as the Arsenal striker swapped the Eredivisie for Championship strugglers Charlton.
The loan move started brightly for the 23-year-old with a hat-trick over a Qatari outfit in a summer friendly... but things did not pan out as hoped from then on.
Sanogo made just three appearances for Ajax in competitive games, all as a substitute, spending a combined 47 minutes on the pitch. All in all, Sanogo touched the ball just 30 times in six months.
In addition, as perhaps unsurprisingly, Sanogo failed to register a single shot let alone score a goal and lost possession 18 times in those 47 minutes with an overall passing accuracy of 40 per cent. It was not all bad though. Sanogo created one chance, ended up on the winning team twice in three games and did not pick up a single booking. Gary Lineker would be impressed.
