Sen. Omo-Agege
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (APC-Delta Central) has insisted that Senate President Bukola Saraki must resign his position in the National Assembly since he defected to a minority party.
He also said those that defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) returned to their natural habitat.
Fielding questions from newsmen at a function at then weekend in Emevor community in Delta State, Omo-Agege said the wave of defection from the APC would not affect the fortunes of the party in the 2019 general election.
He said; “These are people who never supported President Muhammadu Buhari especially in the Senate, so we are glad that they are gone.
“Those who are left now are those who will champion the President’s course. We have no regret that they (the defectors) are gone.”
“I can tell you it will all even out. As we are leaving, we also have people in PDP who are coming especially in a state like Kwara where those in APC left to PDP while those in PDP left to APC.
“The Senate President knows or ought to know that the right thing to do is to step down because there is no way he can continue to lead the Senate when he belongs to the minority party and he knows that.”
