Hakeem Baba-Ahmed,
Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Monday resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
But Hakeem Baba-Ahmed stated his determination had nothing to do with the senate president.
As said by him, it was a tough determination for him, after he consulted with members of his Akida faction of the APC in Kaduna.
Addressing newsmen in Kaduna on Monday, Baba-Ahmed stated he had despatched a letter of withdrawal from APC to the party chairman in his ward.
“This statement is to inform the public of my resignation from APC. I have sent a formal letter to this effect to chairman of my ward,” he stated.
“This has been a very tough determination, to go away a party I helped to kind and made my humble contributions to place in energy.
“After three years, nonetheless, I have to say that the APC has grossly under-performed and has forfeited any declare to my loyalty and proceed membership.
“I don't imagine in all conscience, that it must be trusted and inspired to proceed to control our nice nation past 2019.
“I'm not leaving to affix one other party. This is my determination and mine alone . It has nothing to do with the president of the senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki.
“It’s a determination taken after due consultations with Akida Group, a group that has predated my appointment as chief of employees to the President of the Senate.
“I will remain active in politics, as this is the main avenue for salvaging our nation from rising insecurity, poverty and bitter divisions.”
