The Cross River State Command of the Special Anti Robbery Squads (SARS) has arrested over ten notorious armed robbers in various locations in Cross River State.

Speaking to Famzn News on Friday, the Commander of SARS, Victor James Usang stated that the command would not rest until all the criminals were arrested.

Usang said: “There was armed robbery incident at Ogoja where one Igbo filling station along Government Reserved Area Road was attacked and N700, 000 carted away by two men, below 25 years- Ogar David and Edward Ugbe.

“The two men have been arrested and we have recovered a locally made pistol and one cartridge as well as N92, 000.”

The SRAS boss stated that in Awi, in Akamkpa local government area of the State, there was another robbery incident, where one Njomano Egom Ndifun was robbed of N900, 000 by Okon Asukwo Ekpenyong and his gang of five.

“Okon Asukwo Ekpenyong has been arrested and a sum of N98, 000 recovered from him and when we conducted a search in his house, we recovered a locally made pistol and two microscopes allegedly belonging to a secondary school in the area,” he also said.

He said in Awi again, two ladies were robbed of their phones and a sum of N20, 000 by one Otoh Agbor Ofem also residing in Awi.

“Ofem has a gang and he is the head of the gang.

“He is from Yakurr local government area of the state. He has been arrested and we are strategizing with a view to arresting other gang members.”
