Schalke have opened negotiations with Sevilla for the Spanish side's defender Coke, Goal understands.
Sevilla have already seen the likes of Grzegorz Krychowiak, Kevin Gameiro, Ciro Immobile, Ever Banega and Jose Antonio Reyes depart this summer, as well as coach Unai Emery.
And Coke could be the next out the door, as Schalke are prepared to pay around €3 million for the 29-year-old, who is contracted to the Europa League holders until 2018.
Coke has been a key member of a successful Rojiblancos side since joining from Rayo Vallecano in 2011, winning three Europa League titles and finishing runner up in the Copa del Rey and UEFA Super Cup.
The Spain Under 16 international will be Schalke's third signing of the transfer window, having already acquired Breel Embolo from Basel and Naldo on a free transfer from Wolfsburg.
