Ben Shepherd obviously didn’t get the memo about Soccer Aid being a friendly.
Shepherd was part of the England team which beat a Rest of the World XI in a charity match for Unicef on Sunday evening, but the TV presenter managed to get himself sent off in the second half for a last-man challenge on Dimitar Berbatov.
Before that, he recklessly made a two-footed challenge on Edgar Davids, which left the former Juventus and Barcelona midfielder in a heap.
Harsh, or fair? @benshephard sees red after a last ditch challenge on Dimitar Berbatov. #SoccerAid https://t.co/3gDS0lnc8E

Peter Schmeichel was a pundit for the game, and the Manchester United legend wasn’t best pleased with Shepherd’s... eagerness.
“This is out of order,” Schmeichel told ITV.
“These guys like Edgar Davids and Ronaldinho they come here, travel a long way and play for nothing.
“That’s not the way you treat anyone and it’s a bad, bad tackle. It’s not the first time Ben Shepherd has done this. He did it against Maradona 10 years ago three times.” - Goal
