The three senators from Ekiti State have urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC), led by Uche Secondus to urgently wade into the crisis rocking the party in the state and reconcile the various factions.

The senators – Duro Faseyi, Abiodun Olujimi and Fatimat Raji-Rasaki – stated the intervention was necessary for lasting solution and ensuring victory for the party in future polls.

The senators stated in a jointly signed statement in Ado Ekiti yesterday that “the PDP in Ekiti State remains a formidable chapter in Nigeria and we must continue to work together to sustain the trend at all situations.“ "Therefore, efforts must be in top gear to ensure that all factions are brought together to move the party forward."

Reiterating their support for Chief Idowu Faleye-led State Executive Council, SEC, of the PDP in Ekiti State, they said: “We only recognise the leadership of the Idowu Faleye-led executive of the PDP in the state as the authentic SEC.

“What is happening in the state PDP is an internal party affairs which should not be seen as a crack within the party, hence the position of the senators to set the record straight.”

They called on the Tunde Olatunde-led factional executive to allow peace to reign in Ekiti PDP, saying: “What PDP needs now is unity and we must all work in unison to fight our common enemies at all times.

“It is time for all of us to come together and work together because the task ahead is enormous and any singular division could jeopardise the collective efforts in future elections”

It would be recalled that there has been uproar in the state PDP in the last two months which has culminated to suspension and counter suspension between the Faleye-led executive and Olatunde-led faction.
