The Senegalese National Civil Aviation Agency has today (07/09/15) confirmed in Dakar that a small medical evacuation plane carrying seven people, which crashed off Senegal, collided with a Boeing 737 over the Atlantic Ocean.
It stated in an earlier report that the reasons for the crash of the Air Senegal aircraft, which was coming from Burkina Faso and went down about 100 kilometres off Senegal’s coast on Saturday, had been unknown.
As stated by the agency, the medical evacuation plane was carrying a Senegalese doctor and two nurses, two Congolese and one Algerian national, as well as a French patient.
It stated authorities have dispatched a search and rescue team to the area.
Meanwhile, the aviation agency had on Sunday mistakenly reported that three people from Burkina Faso had been on the flight.
