Mother of Boko Haram chief, Abubakar Shekau, has not seen him for 15 years.
In an interview, Falmatu Shekau revealed this to the Hausa Service of the Voice of America.
As said by her, Shekau’s father, who died years in the past, was a native Koranic college instructor.
She advised her interviewer that her son, Abubakar, grew to become radicalised after he met the founding father of the Boko Haram sect, the late Mohammed Yusuf. She famous that she had not seen her son since then.
“Since Shekau met Mohammed Yusuf, I never saw him again,” Falmatu stated.
She additionally stated, ” I do know he's my son and everybody is aware of the love a mom has for her son however our characters differ. He has put a lot of individuals into very tough conditions.
“I wish I could see him to talk some sense into him. He has thrown a lot of people into panic but I am praying to Allah to set him on the right path.”
