Madam Beauty Ogere Siasia, mother of Nigeria Under-23 head coach, has regained her freedom after two weeks of being held captive by suspected kidnappers.
The Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Butswat Asinim, confirmed the development of the release of Samson Siasia’s mother by her abductors yesterday.
Asinim revealed that Mrs Siasia was rescued at about 1.30am yesterday following an operation by the Bayelsa State Police Command.
“She was rescued at about 1.30am today (Saturday) by the police following an operation on the case,” stated Asinim.
The case is however, stated to be ongoing despite Siasia’s mother regaining her freedom after two weeks in the custody of her kidnappers.
Asinim said: “Of course we will continue the case and the culprits will be brought to book.”
Samson Siasia is currently with the Nigerian under-23s as they prepare to face Mali in M’Bour, Senegal this Sunday in the Caf Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations, which serves as the qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games men’s football event.
