The South East Senate Caucus has expressed shock and disappointment over reported discount within the 2018 finances allocation for the Enugu Airport Terminal.
The Chairman of the caucus, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, and lawmakers from the area stated they learnt that an allocation of N2 billion sustained by the 2 aviation committees of the Senate and House of Representatives, have been stated to have been slashed to N500 million.
The lawmaker stated that the caucus had summoned an emergency assembly of South East lawmakers to unravel when the minimize was effected and by who.
“No right thinking Igbo man would support any cut on allocation for projects in the South East region,” he stated.
Abaribe, who stated that the finances paperwork have been verifiable, famous that “we are committed and determined to find out who made the cut.”
He stated that the caucus truly lobbied for the Enugu Airport Terminal allocation to be elevated to N3.5 billion till the Ministry of Aviation informed members of the caucus that what they'd was an envelope which couldn't be elevated past the N2 billion allocation.
Abaribe, who can also be the Chairman, Senate Committee on Power, Steel Development and Metallurgy, famous that N30 billion was smuggled into the ability finances with out his committee’s data.
