The McLaren 570S doesn’t have to get an aftermarket exhaust system to sound menacing, as a new video proves. The British sports car was captured on camera around Monaco, starting up its engine, revving and accelerating.

Before asking why it sounds this good, we have to remind you that the first addition to the Sports Series range has a 3.8-liter twin turbo V8 engine under its hood, the same one used on the late MP4-12C and also the same one found on the rest of the McLaren lineup, including the 650S, 675LT and the P1 hybrid exotic.

The mid-mounted V8 sends, in this case, 570PS (562hp) and 600Nm (442lb-ft) of torque to the rear-wheels through a 7-speed SSG dual-clutch gearbox, allowing a 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 328km/h (204mph).

The 570S has a base price of $184,900, which makes it just $2,200 more expensive than the 911 Turbo S, while in the UK, it starts from Β£143,250.
