The former England international has picked up his boots once again to help a non-league side who have lost all 21 of their games this season and racked up a -188 goal difference
Former England left-back Stuart Pearce has signed a one-match deal with Longford AFC, the club dubbed 'the worst in Britain'.
The Gloucester Senior League Division Two strugglers have been beaten in each of their 21 league games this season, with their goal difference standing at a horrifying -188.
However, due to Direct Line's #DirectFix campaign, the 53-year-old has been persuaded to take his old boots off their peg and return to the field in order to help the hapless non-league club.
Pearce has helped lead sessions at the England national team's former training pitch at Bisham Abbey and is hoping to inspire a positive result next time out.
The former Manchester City boss was set to clock his first appearance against Smiths Athletic only for the game to be postponed due a waterlogged pitch and will now face Whaddon United on February 27.
"It was great to meet the lads for the first time after my debut had to be unfortunately called off," he said.
"We have a great bunch of players here at the club and it was great to share my knowledge from when I used to train here with England and, bring some of my managerial experience to the table too.
"Hopefully this experience will help fix the confidence of the team, which should show through their performance on the pitch."
