Few weeks after the jubilation that greeted the graduation of worldwide flights on the newly upgraded Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu; the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made its first arrest and cocaine seizure.
The suspect, Chizoba Anselem Nwabuwa 32 year-old 400 Levels Fine and Applied Arts scholar was apprehended throughout the inward screening of passengers on an Ethiopian flight from Brazil enroute Addis-Ababa. He was discovered to have ingested liquid cocaine packed in male condoms.
The head of the NDLEA on the Enugu Airport, Mr. Nsikak-Abasi Udoh who confirmed the arrest acknowledged.that the suspect excreted 25 wraps of a liquid that examined optimistic for cocaine.
"The suspect excreted twenty-five (25) wraps of liquid substance. When examined with the United Nations drug testing package, it examined optimistic for cocaine weighing 1.250kg. This first arrest and seizure is thrilling to us as a result of we simply commenced operations," Nsikak-Abasi acknowledged.

"I'm a 400 degree scholar of Fine & Applied Arts on the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State. I wished to make use of the half one million naira (N500,000) they promised to pay me in creating my Art Gallery. They assured me in Brazil that authorities won't be able to detect liquid cocaine, so I used to be assured. Unfortunately, issues have turned-out the opposite manner. I remorse my involvement in drug trafficking."
Chizoba who's single hails from Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA Ahmadu Giade expressed satisfaction with the arrest.
He urged members of the general public to pursue professional companies always noting good identify is much better than ill-gotten wealth.
The suspect will probably be charged to courtroom.
