Presidential aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sule Lamido has vowed to withdraw the honour given to Babagana Kingibe by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kingibe was the operating mate of late MKO Abiola within the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election.

Speaking to Punch, Lamido stated that Kingibe betrayed June 12, including that he doesn't deserve the honour.

He stated: “If I develop into the President, I'll put it in correct perspective. I'll go into the archive and convey out the real outcomes and if Abiola is the winner, I'll name INEC to announce the outcomes and I'll then undergo the method and ensure we pay the N 45bn he was owed as a result of that was the primary factor they stated led to the annulment.

“I'll withdraw the honour given to Babagana Kingibe, as a result of he doesn’t deserve it.

“He betrayed June 12 and followed his kinsman (Abacha), going by the tribal bond, to undermine June 12. They picked Abiola and locked him up.”
