It's been a tough season for Sunderland. Sam Allardyce's appointment and transfer business during January has seen an improvement in form but they find themselves in the relegation zone with three games left to play.
Newcastle's win over Crystal Palace, thanks to a Santiago Munez-esque free kick from Andros Townsend, moved them out of the bottom three for the first time in 10 weeks with Sunderland dropping in.
Even a late Jermain Defoe penalty, which rescued a point against Stoke City in injury time, could not lift one fan's hopes too much. Thankfully this gloriously tragic moment was caught on TV.

This man has bought special face paints and gone to the effort of illustrating red and white stripes onto his face - then realised Sunderland were playing Stoke City so added a crude cat - but still his team could not reward him with three points.
This is, probably, a father of children who still, despite likely fleeting thoughts on the contrary, braved the world with applause-worthy commitment to the cause. Yet still Sunderland dropped into the bottom three.
It's a cruel world but Extra Time salutes your dedication, sir....
