Brondby midfielder Lebogang Phiri has accused Panathinaikos striker Marcus Berg of racially abusing him during the Europa League match between the two clubs on Thursday night.
Berg scored two goals as the Greek side won the first leg of the play-off match 3-0, while Brondby finished the match with nine men.
Speaking to Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet after the match, however, Phiri claimed the Sweden international targeted him with a racially charged insult.
"Marcus Berg went past me and called me a monkey," Phiri said. "I have never, ever experienced anything like this. It is a total lack of respect for other people.
"I am shocked that this could happen and certainly will not be compared to an animal. It is shocking to experience."
According to Ekstra Bladet, Phiri's team-mate Rodolph Austin heard the alleged abuse from the substitutes' bench and unsuccessfully attemped to confront Berg after the game.
