Coronavirus NigeriaThe Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association (PTD) has come out to beg its members to adhere to the governments’ directives on improved personal hygiene and social distancing while discharging their duties to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Mr. Salimon Oladiti, the National Chairman, PTD Branch of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) revealed this today in Lagos.

According to him, there will be task force across all locations in Nigeria to make sure PTDs are fully kitted with gloves, sanitizers and nose masks.

He added that we must all continue to observe the preventive measures already announced by the government at all levels, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

His words, “We've directed all our members across the country that they should be fully kitted with gloves, sanitisers and nose masks, in their essential services to the nation.

“They are also expected to observe other protocols for managing COVID-19 while discharging their duties.

“Any of our members who do not comply with this directives will not be allowed to enter any petroleum depot in the country.

“We already have a task force to ensure full compliance,”

“It is a task that must be done to ensure the safety of our lives and our people.

“I wish to appeal to our members to continue to closely observe the preventive measures already announced by the government at all levels, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.”
