Cameron Borthwick-Jackson starts in place of the injured Ashley Young, while Adnan Januzaj is on the bench for the first time since his curtailed loan spell at Borussia Dortmund
Manchester United have made one change to their starting XI for the visit of Southampton to Old Trafford.
Teenage full-back Cameron Borthwick-Jackson earns a recall after a groin injury for Ashley Young, with Matteo Darmian switching to the right-hand side after starting on the left against Liverpool.
Adnan Januzaj could make his first senior appearance for United since August after being named as one of the seven substitutes by Louis van Gaal.
The Belgian returned early from a season-long loan deal at Borussia Dortmund last week after failing to break into the Bundesliga team's first XI.
And, in his first game since arriving back at Old Trafford, he netted twice in United's 4-0 win over Southampton on Monday in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League.
United are looking to extend a five-match unbeaten run which has seen them climb up to fifth place, two points behind Tottenham Hotspur who currently occupy the final Champions League berth.
Manchester United starting XI: De Gea; Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Borthwick-Jackson; Schneiderlin, Fellaini; Lingard, Herrera, Martial; Rooney.
Subs: Romero, McNair, Varela, Pereira, Januzaj, Mata, Memphis.
Southampton starting XI: Forster; Van Dijk, Fonte, Bertrand; Cedric, Wanyama, Clasie, Targett; Mane, Long, Tadic.
