The French striker is back in the United XI, while Marcus Rashford again starts after his four goals in two games in Martial's absence
Anthony Martial will start for Manchester United against Watford, with Marcus Rashford retaining his place in the starting XI and Timothy Fosu-Mensah handed a full debut.
Martial missed the recent victories over FC Midtjylland and Arsenal due to a hamstring injury sustained in the warm-up for the Europa League fixture at Old Trafford, but has recovered sufficiently to take his place in the starting XI against the Hornets.
The Frenchman is set to start as a wide attacker, with Rashford given the nod to continue as a striker after netting four goals in his first two senior appearances.
Meanwhile, Fosu-Mensah gets a first start after coming on for the injured Marcos Rojo in Sunday's victory over Arsenal, with the Argentine set to play as a centre-back to replace the missing Michael Carrick.
Juan Mata is given the captain's armband for the first time as a Manchester United due to the absences of club skipper Wayne Rooney as well as deputies Carrick and Chris Smalling.
Manchester United: De Gea; Varela, Blind, Rojo, Fosu-Mensah; Schneiderlin, Herrera; Martial, Mata, Memphis; Rashford.
Subs: Romero, McNair, Darmian, Riley, Lingard, Rothwell, Weir.
