Jurgen Klopp has made eight changes to Liverpool’s starting line-up against Swansea as he freshens up his squad following their Europa League exertions.

Only Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren and Philippe Coutinho keep their place in the first 11 from Thursday night’s 1-0 defeat at Villarreal in the semi-final of the continental competition.

The Brazilian had to be replaced at half-time against the Spanish side due to illness, but has recovered fully to link and create play in Sunday’s lunchtime kick off.

Daniel Sturridge, who was an unused substitute at Estadio El Madrigal, lines up from the off at the Liberty Stadium. The England international has found the net in five of his past six league appearances.

Klopp has opted for a youthful central midfield pairing with 22-year-old Kevin Stewart and Pedro Chirivella, 18, working in tandem.

Martin Skrtel will wear the armband for Liverpool, who have only named six substitutes as Connor Randall woke up feeling ill and had to return home.

Liverpool starting XI: Ward, Clyne, Lovren, Skrtel, Smith, Stewart, Chirivella, Ibe, Coutinho, Ojo, Sturridge

Liverpool subs: Mignolet, Brannagan, Lucas, Teixeira, Lallana, Benteke
