John Terry has revealed that the new contract Chelsea have offered would see him take on a different role at the club.
The Blues captain announced at the end of January that he would not be given a new deal and was expecting to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer after 21 years in west London.
Chelsea, however, confirmed on Friday during Guus Hiddink's press conference that a one-year contract extension had been tabled.

Terry confirmed on his Instagram page that he was weighing up the proposal, which he says would see him take on a "different role" at the club.
"Thanks to everyone for the kind wishes," he wrote.
"The contract extension the club has offered me is a different role and I hope everyone will understand I want to take the time to consider it carefully before making a decision."
