The Boca Juniors striker plans to retire in Argentina and subsequently snubbed a move to SIPG Shanghai for the second time following a previous approach after he left Juventus
Boca Juniors striker Carlos Tevez rejected an annual salary of $25 million (£17.4m) to join Shanghai SIPG, Goal understands.
The Chinese Super League have signed a number of marquee stars in recent months, including former Chelsea midfielder Ramires, fellow Brazil international Alex Teixeira and Roma winger Gervinho.
Shanghai attempted to lure Tevez to Asia with an eye-watering salary package which would have seen the former Manchester City forward earn $480,000 (£335,000) per week.
The latest move is the second time Shanghai have offer the32-year-old a staggering wage, with their previous offer of $20m (£13.9m) a year rejected ahead the Argentine's summer return to Boca. Boca are currently 12th in the Argentine Premier Division, most recently drawing 0-0 with Temperley.
