A 1957 Bedford CA van isn’t the most desirable thing in the world when it comes to collecting cars, however, this particular example is special. Not necessarily for car enthusiasts, however, more like for movie freaks.

You see, the car starred in the award winning British film β€œThe Lady in The Van” and is just one of two specially prepared and β€œcosmetically distressed” for the film, in order to reproduce the true story of Miss Mary Shepherd, who lived in a Bedford CA van on Alan Bennett's driveway for over 10 years.

Truth be told, for you and me, this is just a yellow Bedford van with a rather hefty price tag–considering its estimated to fetch between Β£9,000 and Β£12,000 ($12,543 - $16,739) at Silverstone’s Auction next month, however, for a movie aficionado or even a Bedford CA fan (if there is one) acquiring this example is like killing two (rare) birds with one stone.

The model apparently is considered an increasingly sought after classic, with prices for it going up; so, if you’re in the market for such a vehicle, this 55 hp 1.5-litre British van was hand painted by the main actress (Maggie Smith) herself, and the vehicle also featured on the promotional poster of the film. Sure, it might not be a pristine example, however, it makes up for it being a movie car, right?
