Egypt international Omar Gaber has travelled to Switzerland in order to undergo a medical to complete a move to Basel.
The 24-year-old midfielder and right back will join the Swiss giants from Zamalek for €1.65 million, with extra clauses including a friendly between the two sides in United Arab Emirates, while the Egyptian side will receive 15 per cent of any sell-on fee.
The player waved goodbye to the club's fans on Sunday before he got on the flight to Switzerland.
And it appears the deal has been completed, with Gaber posting a picture of himself in a Basel jersey on his official website.
The deal sees Gaber follow in the footsteps of Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Eleny in joining Basel from Zamalek - with the pair both moving on to Europe's top leagues after starring at the club.
However, Ahmed Hammoudi also made the same move and, after failing to break into the first-team, was loaned back to Zamalek till the end of the season....
