Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai MohammedThe Federal Government has urged desperate politicians and the political elites to escape spreading lies about religious persecution in the country.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said this in London today.

According to him, anyone indulging in such an act is only demarketing Nigeria globally and that will not be condoned.

He added that there is nothing like religious persecution in Nigeria.

His words, β€œWe're aware that some people are demarketing the country and there is no length they have not gone to do this.

β€œHowever, the honest truth is that there is nothing like religious persecution in Nigeria.

β€œThere is no state in Nigeria that has Muslims without Christians.

β€œWe must be very careful not to demarket our country simply because we've not been able to get what we want,”

We know what some people did at the run-up to the last general election to ensure that this administration did not succeed.

β€œSince we won the election, we've called on everybody to come together to support this administration.

β€œAny attempt to demarket this country will have dire implications on everybody; whether you are. Christian or Muslim.

β€œIt is important for everyone to know that this country will continue to exist, even after 2023.

β€œSpreading falsehood will not be in our interest and we all know that religion is a very sensitive issue in Nigeria,”

On support from other nations to end terrorism, β€œWe can't be left to ourselves. It took the whole world to flush out terrorists from Syria and we need that kind of thing in fighting Boko Haram in Nigeria.

β€œIf you noticed, the entire Sahel is unstable today. Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Cameroon, and Niger.

β€œThis is not the time for the international community to withdraw its support.

β€œTerrorism is a global issue, and we all have a common destiny.”
