When designing the Opel Kadett B, the German car manufacturer’s engineers surely didn’t have a 1,100hp beast in mind.
Back in 1965, when the second-gen model was launched, the Kadett was a stylish, simple, well balanced model, with an adequate engine line-up. Due to its multitude of body choices, the Kadett had a thriving career in motorsport as well, with the option of choice being the rare 1.9-litre, 105hp Rallye Sprint version, based on the Coupe.

The Rallye Sprint variant was less of a rarity in Sweden, where high numbers of the cars produced were sold. Which may explain this blue monster.

It’s unknown whether this particular Kadett started life as a Rallye Sprint, and irrelevant to be honest, because now it's powered by a LSx based LM7 engine, with LS1 heads and a massive 80mm Borg Warner S480 turbo by its side. Enough to send 1100hp to the rear wheels, at 24 psi of boost, and obliterate anything that stands between it and a quarter mile.

As 1320’s video shows, even thoroughly modified all-wheel-drive Audis can’t keep up with it, and the Ingolstadt-born machines are no slouches (especially the 65mm turbo 80 quattro).
