In the past year or so, competition to build the fastest street-legal R35-generation Nissan GT-R has reached epic proportions with tuners AMS Performance and Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS) trading blows as quarter mile records have been smashed.

Arguably the most well-known GT-R in the drag racing scene is the AMS 'Alpha Omega', a project car which became the first GT-R to break into the 9-second, 8-second and 7-second clubs.

At the start of 2015, its best run was a 7.7 second sprint at 186 mph however, in March the previous year, ETS claimed the title following a blistering 7.49 second run at 189 mph. Before long, AMS reclaimed the title with a 7.48 however, in 2016, both of those companies have been out-paced by EKanno Racing in the Middle East.

Details about this GT-R are relatively limited however, we know it originally comes from T1 Race Development and is delivering well over 2,000 hp at the crank. Despite getting a very poor launch in its most recent run, it still managed to claim a new world record with a 7.44 second quarter mile at an incredible 200 mph (322.5 km/h).

Interestingly, it's 60-foot time was slower than the Alpha Omega however, ultimately, that didn't matter.

Expect a response from AMS or ETS very soon.
