“Because we lost we are angry, I am angry," said Son, before suggesting that maintaining a challenge in all three competitions would have proved almost impossible. "This is football, we have to understand," he said. "We had many chances to score and to win this game but it wasn’t easy. It's finished now and we have to concentrate on the Europa League. We can’t play every game, every tournament. Now we can concentrate on the Europa League and Premier League."
Asked if losing to Crystal Palace could help in those competitions that Spurs are still in, Son said: "I think so because it’s now going to the end of the season. All the players are tired. But we now have tournaments to play. We are not happy we are out of the FA Cup. I think we had the quality for the FA Cup. We are angry because we lost.
"We have four days until we play (against Fiorentina) and we can be really focused and really relaxed. We have to win. We are ready."
Son also admitted that he expects more from himself over the remainder of the season. "I had an injury - now I feel better than before," he said.
"I have to be more. I know I can play much better and I can score some more. I’m very happy. In Germany you have maybe two weeks’ holiday and pre-season again and maybe one month we don’t play. It’s very long for me now. It's very good, because every three or four days there’s another game, and I love to play football, and it’s nice to be here and play on Boxing Day."
