The Nigerian Army on Wednesday mentioned it killed 15 Boko Haram terrorists and rescued 49 individuals in separate encounters between the terrorists and troops within the Southern Lake Chad Basin.
Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Deputy Director Public Relations Theatre Command Operation Lafiya Dole, disclosed this in an assertion issued in Maiduguri.
He stated that a few of the insurgents have been killed within the Lake Chad Island whereas others have been neutralised in villages in Northern Borno on Tuesday.
“Troops dislodged the insurgents from their hideout after a fierce battle, killing 11 insurgents in Gomaran village of Southern Lake Chad Basin”, he mentioned.

Nwachukwu stated that the troops additional engaged fleeing insurgents in Firgi and Moula, each in Bama and Dikwa council.
