The broadcast was littered with profanities after the commentary duo were positioned too close to the vociferous home support, prompting them to leave the ground

Lionel Messi’s two-goal masterclass against Arsenal may have been the biggest talking point from Barcelona’s victory across most of Europe, but in Turkey something else was causing a stir.

Midway through the second half of Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 clash, two Turkish commentators decided to put down their microphones and end their commentary because of excessive swearing from the fans around them.

The match, which was broadcast on terrestrial channel TRT in Turkey, became a hot topic on social media as Gunners fans could be clearly heard uttering profanities such as “F****** w*****” in the background.
Commentators Yalcin Cetin and Omer Urundul had been placed in an overspill area that was very close to the home support, who were less than impressed by referee Cuneyt Cakir’s performance.

The two commentators tried to explain their predicament to viewers, though felt the situation had become unworkable right around the time Jordi Alba went face-to-face with Olivier Giroud.

On the 65th minute, the duo decided to cut their broadcasting short as the swearing and jeering continued, saying they had no choice but to move away from their location.

Cetin and Urundul never returned, however, and instead the punditry team in the TRT studios back in Turkey had to take over commentary duties!
