One day after confirming a number of high-profile departures, Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey has taken to the social network again to confirm more HR news: Leslie Berland, previous EVP of advertising, marketing, and digital partnerships at American Express (Amex), is the new Twitter Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). This confirms rumors that first started to circulate earlier this week.
Welcoming @leslieberland to Twitter! She'll join as our CMO to help tell the stories of our iconic product!

Twitter lost key execs just yesterday from product, media, engineering, and HR, which followed a large round of layoffs the previous year after Dorsey returned to steady ye olde Twitter ship. With stock tanking after a seemingly never-ending barrage of bad news, Twitter was due a little good news after a long search to find someone to head up marketing.
Berland joins Twitter from Amex where she worked in various senior marketing, social media, and digital positions since 2005.
