Uber's ban on its licence by London's transport regulator, Transport for London, (TfL) to function in the town has been overturned in courtroom.
TfL refused to resume the licence when it ran out final September, saying the ride-hailing agency was not "fit and proper" to function in the town.
Following a courtroom listening to, the corporate has been granted a licence but it surely has been put on probation for 15 months.
Uber had been in search of a five-year licence when it was refused final 12 months.
Following a two-day listening to at Westminister Magistrates' Court, Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot mentioned Uber was now thought of "fit and proper".
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, mentioned: "After years of operating poorly in London, Uber has now accepted that TfL's motion in refusing to resume their licence was completely justified. Today our stance has been vindicated by the courtroom.
"Uber has been put on probationtheir 15 month licence has a clear set of conditions that TfL will thoroughly monitor and enforce."
Tom Elvidge, common supervisor of Uber in the UK, mentioned: "We are pleased with today's decision. We will not stop to work with TfL to address their concerns and earn their trust, while providing the best possible service for our customers."
One of the areas of concern that TfL highlighted final 12 months was about how Uber reported crime.
Uber acknowledged that it had made "wholesale" modifications to the enterprise since final September.
This contains reporting crimes on to the police as a substitute of logging legal complaints with TfL, which triggered delays.
During this week's listening to, Helen Chapman, the licensing, regulation and charging director at TfL, acknowledged that Uber's behaviour over reporting allegations to police was "very disturbing".
She mentioned: "I think we have had five years of a very difficult relationship where Uber has felt they haven't required regulation and being operated in the same way as everybody else we regulate."
Ms Chapman acknowledged that the modifications applied by Uber "could, if applied correctly, enhance public safety".
