The United Nations is promising to support the federal government in the development and security of the Niger Delta region.
The incoming United Nations Resident Humanitarian Coordinator and resident representative to Nigeria, Fatima Samoura, stated this on Friday.
The UN representative gave the assurance at a meeting with the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs in Abuja.
As stated by her, the United Nations will continue its collaboration with the federal government to ensure development and security of the region.
Meanwhile, the Minister, Usani Uguru Usani, has revealed that the federal government was at the verge of creating a trust fund for the development of the region.
