The United States Congress has known as on President Muhammadu Buhari to take sturdy motion after herdsmen attacked and killed at the very least 100 individuals in Plateau state on Sunday.

The assault was launched at Xland, Gindin Akwati, Ruku, Nghar, Kura Falls and Kakuruk all in Gashish District.

Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Chris Smith, stated this in a assertion on Tuesday.

“The increasing cycle of violence and impunity we have observed in Nigeria over the past few months warrants a firm response from Nigeria’s civil leaders, beginning with President Muhammadu Buhari. I implore Nigeria’s moral voices, especially the Sultan of Sokoto, to speak out against the Fulani extremists’ growing disregard for the life and property of Nigerian Christians,” he stated.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Sunday expressed remorse over the lethal assault, vowing to make sure the arrest of the perpetrators.

“The grievous loss of lives and property arising from the killing in Plateau today [Sunday] is painful and regrettable,” Buhari had stated.

“My deepest condolences to the affected communities. We is not going to relaxation till all murderers and prison parts and their sponsors are incapacitated and dropped at justice.”
