The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, has been called to arrest and investigate with immediate effect the Director General and Finance Director, Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization, PDP-PCO, Dr. Ahmadu Ali and Senator Nenadi Usman respectively, over their roles in handling the campaign finances of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
This was as the PDP has disowned the duo over their handling of financial inflow and outflow, running into billions of naira meant for the execution of Former President Jonathan’s presidential bid.
A human rights activist and Managing Director of Panic Alert Security Systems, PASS, George Uboh, in a statement issued in Abuja, called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Senator Usman and some other top PDP leaders for their various roles in the financial scandal.
Uboh particularly accused Senator Usman for accepting over N2.2 billion campaign fund in three installments from an Anambra State oil magnate and party funder as well as deploying over N1 billion for publicity during the presidential election campaign.
The money, he said, was in excess of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, monetary support limit for candidates.
