The left-back, who had surgery on his back after the crash, was able to get out of his wheelchair to hug a friend and get in a car after being discharged on Friday
Chapecoense plane crash survivor Alan Ruschel left hospital on Friday afternoon after making a sufficient enough recovery to return home. Ruschel was one of six survivors on board LaMia Flight 2933, which crashed on its way to Medellin for the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final between Chapecoense and Atletico Nacional on November 28. Seventy-one people were killed in total and just Ruschel, goalkeeper Jakson Follman and defender Neto lived of the 22 players in the travelling squad. Ruschel underwent surgery on a back injury sustained in the crash but was filmed walking on December 9, and was able to get out of his wheelchair to hug a friend and enter the car that was taking him home on Friday.

The 27-year-old left-back had previously played for Chapecoense in 2013 and returned to the club in a loan deal from Internacional in June. Follman and Neto both remain in hospital. Follman, 24, suffered grave injuries in the crash and has had his right leg amputated, but doctors have said the condition of his left leg is progressing as hoped.
Neto, 31, is recovering from trauma and surgery to numerous areas of his body including his skull, and had no memory of the crash. After coming out of a coma, his condition was stabilised before he was told the tragic news of the accident. > ..... - Goal
