The 23-year-old struck a wonderful effort shortly after half time, keeping them above Sunday's opponents in the Eredivisie table after 17 games
Ajax captain Davy Klaassen's long-range effort against third-place PSV on Sunday not only kept his team above their opponents in the Eredivisie table, but it stole the show. The 23-year--old received the ball as he strolled into an attacking position on the edge of the box and let rip, cutting across the ball slightly to put it into the roof of the net. The stunning effort put Ajax in the lead just after half time, the power and direction on the ball leaving PSV goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet no chance of stopping it. The visitors stole a late goal to draw the game - Siem De Jong netting in the 81st minute - though it was Klaassen's strike that was the highlight of the match. Ajax sit second in the division, five points behind leaders Feyenoord, and three points ahead of PSV.
