This particular Maserati was driven from the UK all the way to Bulgaria simply because the owner felt that the cabin of his GranCabrio wasn't spectacular enough.
The tuner didn't touch the exterior, which remained 'Rosso Trionfale'. The black 'Astro' 20" wheels are also factory-spec, though that's about where Maserati's design influence ends as far as this build is concerned.
Inside, gone is the 'Bianco Pregiato' finish as soft brown leather and Bordeaux accents have taken over everywhere. The white stitching then serves as "precision framing", according to the tuner, while Alcantara finds its way around the sun visors and on the soft-top itself.
Vilner also wrapped some hard surfaces (like the base of the seats) in fine Alcantara, whereas the rear-view mirror received a brown leather front frame, with black Alcantara at the back. The Bulgarian tuner put more brown leather to good use around the Bose speakers and even in the luggage compartment, where the Trident is now embroidered.
There's also a bag, hand crafted in the same "spirit" as the interior of the car itself. It's got red handles, stitched together with the same technique as the steering wheel - while the carbon fiber shoulder strap resembles the seat belts' metal buckle, which is pretty clever.
"I've always adored the car from the moment I got it. It shares tons of technologies with Ferrari, however, the largely vinyl interior has always been easily damaged and degraded," said the car's owner. "The new interior by Vilner is simply wonderful. If only Maserati could produce an interior of this quality that looked even half as spectacular. It finally has an inside to match the outside."
In terms of performance, this 2012 Maserati GranCabrio Sport drives as it did back when it first left the factory. So no, there are no engine mods, though with 460 PS and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) at its disposal, it will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5 seconds flat before maxing out at 285 km/h (177 mph).
