Although it was believed the Volvo V90 would show itself for the first time in Geneva, it seems that the Swedish automaker will pull the wraps off the new model earlier to the world on February 18.

The date hasn’t been officially confirmed at this point, however, Teknikensvarld reports that the car will be presented in Stockholm exactly two weeks before the Swiss event will open its gates for the media.

The Volvo V90 is based on the all-new S90 sedan and will ride on the Swedish firm's SPA architecture, with identical technologies and the same engine lineup, which is expected to include four-cylinder petrol and diesel powertrains, along with a range-topper T8 hybrid.

Trim levels will include Kinetic, Momentum and Inscription and a V90 R-Design is also believed to be added. It seems that the 2017 Volvo V90 will hit dealerships roughly three months after the S90, meaning around September, however, details are yet to be announced.

The more practical version of the saloon will make its public debut on March 3, during the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show.
