Gerard Deulofeu invited George Shaw to watch the Toffees take on Swansea City on Sunday and brought him onto the pitch at half-time to score in front of the home supporters

Young Everton fan and cerebral palsy sufferer George Shaw scored a goal at Goodison Park after an invitation from Gerard Deulofeu.

The nine-year-old came to the attention of Everton fans after a video emerged on Twitter of him playing football and he was soon gifted tickets to Sunday's clash with Swansea City.

While watching his favourite team live, George was invited onto the pitch to score in front of the home supporters in a heartwarming moment during the break.

Deulofeu says he has been inspired by the youngster since he first saw a video of him and pledged to arrange tickets for him if he ever wishes to visit another Everton match.

"George is amazing," he said. "When the father tweeted, I didn’t see it at first. But when I did, I watched the video 20 times.

"George has cerebral palsy but as soon as I saw his video, I asked for it to be reposted. If ever he wants to come to Goodison and see Everton, I will sort him tickets. He is an inspiration.

"To have my shirt on is special. He's in my heart."
