You never knew what the former Newcastle striker would produce on the pitch during his career from one game to another, and likewise now it seems we can have no clue what shenanigans he will post on his Twitter feed on any given week.
Only last week the erstwhile Colombia international was teaching his horse how to play football - and recording the experience for our benefit.
Clearly Asprilla felt the lessons could be best conveyed... yes, while wearing his T-rex get-up.
This is not actually the strangest thing to happen to a horse in the former player's care. Last year Asprilla managed to recover a £44,000 show horse that he had lent to a friend, who then gave it away while drunk at a fair.
Asprilla tweeted earlier this month: "a life without soccer is a borring (sic) life". But evidently soccer is not enough to keep the retired international entertained.
He has previously talked about helping his friends launch their brand of fruity condoms.
Who knows where Tino - or should that be 'Dino' - will get his excitement when he tires of the dinosaur suit.
This writer can't be the only observer who thinks a game of Wembley Singles between the T-Rex and the Horse is surely imminent.
Whether Asprilla's still got it is an open question, but with that huge dinosaur head he would surely have no trouble beasting headers like he once did against Barcelona (below), way back when.
