Aston Martin DB10GETTY

The Aston Martin DB10 driven by Bond in Spectre is to be auctioned next month

The unique car – built by the British sports car manufacturer exclusively for the movie – will be auctioned by Christie’s on 18 February, with all proceeds from the sale being donated to Médecins Sans Frontières.

The car will be part of ‘Spectre – The Auction’, which coincides with the release of the 24th Bond film on Blu-ray and DVD, along with 23 other special lots also going under the hammer for charity.

Most of the DB10s were modified for use in the filming of Spectre, however, the DB10 offered at Christie’s is one of only two “show” cars, which were left unmodified and used for display purposes.

Spectre grossed more than £600M at the box office worldwide

This DB10 was on display at the world premiere of Spectre at the Royal Albert Hall in London and has been signed by James Bond himself, Daniel Craig.

The DB10 for sale, will be the only car to be made available for private ownership.

The DB10 features a 4.7-litre V8 petrol engine and six-speed manual gearbox.

It's an estimated top speed of around 190 mph.

The car’s exterior bodywork is constructed entirely from carbon fibre, while the interior has been handmade by craftspeople at Aston Martin, using fine luxury leathers, carbon fibre and aluminium.

The one potential drawback for the successful – and probably very rich, as the DB10 is predicted to be sold for more than £1m – bidder is that the car is not homologated or approved for use on any public roads and has not undergone the testing processes used for production cars, including crash testing, durability and emissions regimes.

Daniel Craig fuelled speculation that Spectre would be his final outing as James Bond

In short, it’s not road legal. And it doesn’t come with any kind of warranty.

Not that would stop Bond, of course.

Potential bidders can register at spectrelive@christies.com and further information about the auction can also be found at www.christies.com/bond.
