Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini says his 2013 transfer from Everton brought with it a different type of pressure as he found himself at a club expected to win every match.
Despite some speculation about the Belgium midfielder's future at the club, it appears he's very much in Jose Mourinho's plans after starting in last weekend's Community Shield win over Leicester City.
And, ahead of the new season, the 28-year-old has opened up about the new challenges he faced when making his £27.5 million move from Merseyside.
“The stadium is bigger, the pressure, Man United have to win every game, that’s the difference,” he said at a New Balance event.
“I don’t mean that Everton don’t have to win every game, but it’s a different pressure because in the end with Man United, you have to win something.”
Desperate to get back into the Champions League, Man Utd kick off the Premier League season away to Bournemouth on Sunday and Fellaini is keen to help his side get off to the perfect start.
“Fresh for the new season, want to start well, I think it’s important,” he said.
“To start well, to be ready for the supporters, because they wait for the opening of the season to see the new players, to see the new team and if you will do better than the last season.”
