WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump welcomed King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain on the White House Tuesday.
"We love Spain. Our relationship has been outstanding over the years," Trump stated.
The two leaders are anticipated to talk about tariffs on metal, aluminum, and Spanish black olives.
Trump referred to as the commerce relationship with Spain "excellent."
Trump's immigration coverage, which is making headlines as households proceed to be separated on the border, may be a point of interest throughout discussions with King Felipe.
On Sunday, Spain welcomed 600 migrants rescued within the Mediterranean and is now shifting ahead with every asylum case.
This was the Spanish monarch's first assembly with Trump and his sixth go to to the White House.
"We appreciate very much our common history, our heritage," Felipe stated. "So many years that we share, so many issues of common interests as well as there is one basic common issue, which is our value of democracy."
Before visiting the United States capital, Felipe and Letizia visited Lousiana and Texas.
